Turbo Lister Troubleshooting
The following are some troubleshooting tips that involve configuration and database issues. For additional troubleshooting information, refer to the Tubo Lister Desktop Help.
Locating your Turbo Lister log files
To help resolve technical problems with Turbo Lister, eBay Customer Support may request that you send them your Turbo Lister log file as an email attachment.
Turbo Lister log files are located on your hard drive (typically at C:\Program Files\eBay\Turbo Lister\).
Turbo Lister log files have the extension ".log." eBay Customer Support recommends you send at least the Tl.log and Tl.log.bak1.log files because these are the latest log files created by the program and may contain the error associated with your Turbo Lister problem.
Outdated OLE DB Versions
Having outdated versions of certain programs may cause problems installing and updating Turbo Lister, as well as problems reading and writing Turbo Lister database files. To help resolve these issues, you may need to download and install MDAC 2.8 and MS JET files, available from the Microsoft download Web site.
To install MDAC 2.8 and latest MS JET Service Pack:On the Product and Update Download page, in the MDAC Download section, click on the "MDAC 2.8." link, and follow the instructions on to download the file.
Select the MS Jet Service Pack that is appropriate for your operating system and click the file name to download.
For Windows 2000, select Windows2000-KB829558-x86-ENU.exe.
For Windows XP, select WindowsXP-KB829558-x86-ENU.exe.
For Windows 98 and Windows NT, select Jet40SP8_9xNT.exe.
For Windows ME, select Jet40SP8_WMe.exe
Once you have downloaded these files, open the files and install on your system.
After installing the MDAC 2.8 and MS Jet Service Pack updates, reboot your computer.
In order for Turbo Lister to connect and communicate with eBay, it is important that your internet firewall is configured properly to allow uploading, updating, and database transfer from Turbo Lister to eBay. Firewall-related errors include the following:

"The server name or address could not be resolved."
"A connection with the server could not be established."
"An unexpected error occurred while creating your description and submitting your pictures."
"Network problems are preventing Turbo Lister from communicating with eBay. You can use the following procedures to enable Turbo Lister to work with the common firewall programs".
To configure Turbo Lister with Norton Internet Security (http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/) Log in to Open Norton Internet Security as "Supervisor".
Select the "Personal Firewall" section on the main page, and then click the Configure button to open the Program Control page.
Select the "Program Control" tab to access Manual Program Control options.
Scroll and locate Turbo Lister (Tl.exe) or click "Add" to add Turbo Lister.
Set Turbo Lister (Tl.exe) to "Permit".
Click "OK" to close Program Control.
To configure Turbo Lister with McAfee Firewall (http://www.nai.com/us/support/) Under the "Tasks" heading, click "Configuration Assistant".
Click "Next" in the Configuration Assistant screen until you see the "Control Internet Programs".
Scroll and locate Turbo Lister (Tl.exe) or click "Browse" to add Turbo Lister.
Select the "Allow this program to have full unfiltered access to the Internet" option.
Click "Apply" to save the setting.
To configure Turbo Lister with Zone Alarm (http://www.zonelabs.com/) On the left column, click "Program Control".
Select the "Programs" tab.
Locate Turbo Lister (Tl.exe) and verify that it has a green check mark beside it. If not, click each blue "?" or red "X" in the "Access" column, and select "Allow" from the menu. Note: Check only for the "?"s or "X"s that appear beside Turbo Lister.
To configure Turbo Lister with XP Service Pack 2 Go to the XP Service Pack 2 Security Cente by clicking "Start -> Control Panel" and click on "Security Centre".
Click the "Windows Firewall" option at the bottom of the Security Centre Window.
Select the "Exceptions" tab.
Scroll and locate "eBay Turbo Lister" in Programs and Services, and verify that the box is checked.
If you do not see "eBay Turbo Lister", then click the "Add Program" button to browse and select the Tl.exe file in the Turbo Lister directory (C:\Program Files\eBay\Turbo Lister).
Once eBay Turbo Lister has been added to the Exceptions, click "OK" and close the Security Centre.
Network errors are typically caused by having an outdated copy of Turbo Lister installed on your computer or by a configuration issue with your personal Firewall. To update your copy of Turbo Lister you will need to uninstall and reinstall the program (For instructions, see Installing Turbo Lister).
