Buying as a guest lets you try eBay without completing full eBay registration. You can make 15 purchases using Buy It Now before you’ll be required to upgrade by registering as an eBay member.

Guest buying has these additional limitations:

• The price of the item can be no more than US$2,000.

• The item’s seller needs to have a Feedback score of 50 or higher and a positive rating of 98% or more.

• The item can be purchased using Buy It Now, not auction-style.

• Payments need to be made with a credit card processed by PayPal. Note that PayPal lets you send payments quickly and securely online, and your credit card information will not be shared with the seller.

Important: if you’ve purchased items as a guest, your items will become eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection  after you register for a PayPal account. Disputes must be filed in the PayPal Resolution Centre within 45 days of the PayPal payment.

Once you register, you can:

• Track your orders.

• Save time on your next purchase.

• Bid on auction-style listings.

• Leave Feedback for the sellers of items you’ve purchased.

• Get buyer protection. When you pay with PayPal on eBay, eligible transactions are covered up to the full purchase price and original shipping charges.

• Use My eBay to manage your account and buying activities.

• Write a review or guide for the Reviews & Guides section of eBay.

• Create a Want It Now post and tell millions of sellers what you’re looking for.

• Create your own About Me page.

• Access eBay Community resources, including Discussion Boards, Groups, and Answer Center Forums.

• Contact eBay for help with your account (for example, if you’ve forgotten your password or forgotten your user ID).
